Giving Wings to Photovoltaic Installation: Drone Technology Empowering New Energy Construction

With a command from the ground control personnel, a continuous and steady buzzing sound comes from the air... This is not ordinary aircraft noise, but the sound of drones hoisting photovoltaic pedestals, brackets, and panels at the rooftop distributed photovoltaic project of a Wanda Plaza in Sichuan.
A focused drone operator is precisely controlling the aircraft through a wireless gimbal. Under the blazing sun, he squints at the screen, occasionally looking up to confirm the landing spot—each movement calm and skillful. With the cooperation of rooftop workers, nearly 180 pounds of concrete pedestals are smoothly placed within 30 seconds, efficiently, accurately, and safely throughout. This scene is not only a demonstration of technology application but also a vivid practice of "new quality productivity" in the photovoltaic construction field.
Zhang Lele, holding the gimbal, was born in 1998. Though young, he is already an "experienced pilot" with five years of hands-on experience. He obtained his drone operation certificate in 2021 and has now become an indispensable technical backbone of the project. The challenges of traditional construction such as scorching sun, high temperatures, and intense work are being resolved one by one by the innovative operation methods of the drone system. With keen judgment of weather changes and experience accumulated from tens of thousands of flights, Zhang Lele can quickly adjust the flight posture under sudden wind interference to ensure hoisting safety. Colleagues praise that his operation not only saves a lot of manual handling time but also compresses the duration of a single operation from half an hour to a few minutes, significantly improving the overall project progress.
Drone hoisting is far more than just "replacing manpower." It embodies the integration of advanced elements such as new materials, the Internet of Things, and intelligent control, representing the deep application of "new quality productivity" in engineering. Through the efficient coordination of multiple battery modules, Zhang Lele achieves continuous drone operation, breaking through endurance bottlenecks and ensuring the project pace is uninterrupted. The combination of clean equipment and clean energy is a model of green construction.
As Zhang Lele said: "This technology is quietly changing the traditional installation model." The efficiency, precision, and low risk of drones make them especially suitable for complex photovoltaic construction scenarios such as rooftops, mountains, and distributed sites, greatly expanding the implementation boundaries of green energy projects. It is not only a tool upgrade but also an iteration of thinking and management models, significantly reducing safety risks and labor intensity, reflecting a people-oriented and technology-empowered development philosophy.
Looking ahead, there will be countless young pilots like Zhang Lele at construction sites in Qian, Jiangsu. They skillfully use intelligent equipment, integrating cutting-edge technologies such as new materials, new energy, and the Internet of Things into daily operations, injecting strong momentum into frontline projects...
