Leaders from the National Development and Reform Commission inspected the demonstration results of the “dual-carbon” initiative in the Yagele Group’s renovation project.
In late December, Li Zhong, Deputy Director of the Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission, and his delegation visited the energy-saving renovation project of the “Yagele·Marriott Marquis Hotel” in Shanghai—undertaken by the Group—to conduct a field study on the progress of the carbon peak pilot project and to examine the implementation results of the “dual-carbon” demonstration project.
This project is being undertaken by the Jinyun Branch of the Group and involves replacing chilled and hot media pipelines as well as renovating the energy and power equipment room. It represents a pioneering effort in the industry to leverage artificial intelligence technology for a deep, intelligent transformation of energy production and distribution. By using an AI system to obtain real-time environmental parameters from external weather stations around the hotel and combining these with digital twins, the project has developed hotel cooling load characteristic curves, enabling proactive prediction of future cooling demands and allowing the system to adjust its settings accordingly. This approach effectively reduces energy consumption and unlocks significant energy-saving potential. According to data from the trial operation, energy conversion efficiency has improved by nearly 22%.
At the construction site, Project Manager Pan Weidong gave the research team a detailed introduction to how the project team leveraged artificial intelligence technologies during the renovation process. He also provided a hands-on demonstration of the integrated, systematic control approach used to ensure the efficient operation of the entire HVAC and low-voltage systems. The research team unanimously praised the remarkable achievements of the project renovation. (Wang Furong, Qin Bingyan)
