The construction project of the No. 8 Compliance Zone, undertaken by Dongrun Company of the Group, has been successfully completed.

Recently, the No. 8 Compliance Zone Project for Upgrading and Enhancing Urban Wastewater Treatment in Qidong City—constructed by Dongrun Company of the Group—successfully passed its completion acceptance after nine months of tackling tough challenges. At the completion site, the project team received banners from neighborhood committee property management and resident representatives, bearing slogans such as “Tackling Tough Challenges to Upgrade Pipeline Networks—Separating Stormwater and Sewage for the People’s Well-being” and “Separating Stormwater and Sewage to Alleviate Public Worries—Meticulous Work Brings Warmth to People’s Hearts.” These weighty honors represent the highest recognition and the warmest reward for all the builders of Qian’an.

Scientifically coordinated planning tackles the challenges of the “old city.” The No. 8 compliance zone, located in the heart of the built-up area, involves excavating and laying main stormwater and sewage pipelines across a total of 14 residential communities and numerous major thoroughfares. The construction faces multiple challenges, including a “labyrinth” of underground pipelines, pressure from traffic diversion, and diverse resident demands. Adhering to the principle of “putting people’s livelihoods first and prioritizing well-thought-out plans,” the project team has implemented meticulous measures such as issuing advance construction notices, carrying out phased and segmented construction, and adopting dust and noise reduction techniques, thereby minimizing the impact on residents’ daily lives and urban operations. To date, the project has completed the construction and renovation of approximately 72 kilometers of stormwater and sewage pipelines, ensuring that stormwater and sewage flow separately and efficiently, thus systematically enhancing the health of the city’s “veins.”

Quality is the foundation upon which we build a century-old project. The project team adheres to high standards and strict requirements, meticulously and quantitatively managing every stage of construction: rigorously controlling material selection and incoming inspection; precisely overseeing trench excavation and backfilling procedures according to established standards; and systematically restoring the ground surface to its original condition. We strictly monitor pipeline connection techniques and precision, rigorously following the prescribed procedures and acceptance criteria for water-tightness tests. Each work step is accompanied by specific indicators and stringent controls, ensuring continuous improvement and solidifying our commitment to engineering quality. At the completion and acceptance meeting, representatives from the construction authorities, the construction company, the subdistrict office, and various experts unanimously agreed that the project’s physical quality is robust, documentation is complete and compliant, and its visual appearance is excellent—meeting all design requirements and passing the acceptance inspection on the first attempt.

The honorary banner reflects our deep commitment to serving the people. The focus of livelihood projects is to benefit the people, warm their hearts, and align with their aspirations. The Group’s Chairman urged the project team not only to excel in meticulous management but also to actively shoulder social responsibilities and enhance public satisfaction. During construction, the project team not only concentrated on engineering work but also proactively engaged with the community, promptly responding to and addressing the needs and concerns of residents and the neighborhood. They even provided free assistance to residents, helping them carry out minor renovations around their homes. Employees made charitable donations totaling over 10,000 yuan, earning widespread praise and support from the community. At the completion of the project, the property manager of Changlong No. 2 Village took out his phone and said excitedly, “Leaders, look at this photo—before the renovation, whenever it rained heavily, rainwater kept flooding into the community through the north and west gates. But here’s the photo after the renovation: we’ve added drainage ditches at the community entrance. On July 30, during a super-heavy downpour, no rainwater seeped into the community anymore. Thank you so much for solving our real, long-standing problem—we’re truly grateful!” A resident representative from Building 56 in the western area of Changlong No. 1 Village emotionally expressed, “Thank you, government, and thank you to all parties involved in the project! You’ve put in both money and effort to help us re-route our stormwater and sewage pipes. Now, during rainy days, we’ll never again face the awful situation of sewage overflowing onto the streets and emitting a terrible stench. We’re extremely satisfied. On behalf of all the residents in our building, I’ve specially brought this congratulatory banner to express our heartfelt gratitude—thank you so much!”

Completion acceptance is not the end—it’s the starting point for maintenance and upkeep services. Each banner of praise is not only a commendation but also a source of greater responsibility. Dongrun Company will take this as motivation to continue providing excellent follow-up maintenance and upkeep services, ensuring that this vital public project continues to deliver long-term benefits and contributing our professional expertise to building Qidong—a more ecological, livable, and resilient modern city.
