Angus Dundee Distillers PLC, founded in 1950, is an independent family business that operates and produces a variety of high-end Scottish liquors and whisky bottled products. It owns Glencadam, Tomintoul distillery, and a modern bottling plant. Its products are exported to over 80 countries and regions worldwide, with a production share of over 5%. The Chun'an Whiskey Distillery, which is planned to settle down this time, is the largest overseas investment in the history of Aogo Shidandi Group, becoming an important cornerstone for exploring the Chinese whiskey market and bringing a new whiskey cultural experience to Chinese consumers. The project was personally led by the main leaders of the Chun'an Party and government to the UK during the epidemic period for inspection, negotiation, and ultimately successful introduction of foreign investment projects. It has received high attention and expectations from local government departments and has a significant impact on the local and international tourism industry in Hangzhou. The Chun'an (Hangzhou Qiandao Lake) Whiskey Brewing Project, abbreviated as ADD, covers a total land area of approximately 80 acres, consisting of industrial land and supporting social parking lots. The ADD project is named "Chun'an", which means "mellow" and represents the quality coordinate. It takes the meaning of mellow and elegant whiskey, and "'an" refers to the lakeside, which is a geographical coordinate and metaphorically represents the natural aesthetics of the distillery located in the midst of green mountains and clear waters. The distillery site is surrounded by mountains and waters, with a natural geographical environment that is excellent. The design style blends natural landscapes with the aesthetics of Jiangnan Huizhou architecture, and the architectural flow lines echo the lake, island, and skyline, hidden in the nature of "half mountain, half water, mountains surrounded by water". The modern Western style whiskey deeply blends with the traditional Eastern natural aesthetics. The overall planning of the project consists of two parts: the production plant area and the experience center. In addition to advanced production technology and clean production areas, the project features a creative and immersive visitor center, covering many facilities such as creative restaurants, themed hotels, yacht docks, outdoor comprehensive activity lawns, etc., providing tourists with a new interactive experience of whiskey brewing technology, sightseeing, and wine tasting, and striving to create the "Impression Chun'an" brand on the "Whiskey+Tourism" characteristic industry chain, creating a unique visual and aesthetic experience for visitors.

Among them, the construction of a rammed earth wall with a height of 5.5 meters and a length of 1200 meters is the highlight and difficulty of the project construction. How to embody the ingenuity of this perfect design tests the wisdom of the project construction team. The project team is adept at playing the role of the team in the face of this ancient and modern rammed earth wall, utilizing the research and experimental advantages of Beijing University of Architecture and Technology. With local materials and dozens of experimental comparisons, they scientifically grasp the ratio and strength of soil, sand, and stone, forming a process flow of laying out, formwork, structural system, compaction, comprehensive maintenance, and cover plate. Finally, they successfully explored the construction technology of the orange red rammed earth wall and perfectly achieved the design concept requirements.

On April 30, 2024, the project officially started construction and is scheduled to be completed on October 18, 2025. The main buildings include distillation workshop, fermentation workshop, comprehensive factory building, transportation corridor, sewage treatment station, fire pump room, public station building, outdoor sewage tank, silo wheat trough tank, social parking reception area, social parking supporting building, emergency pool, etc. The key and difficult points of the project are prominent, with many buildings and a wide construction area; Construction of irregular steel structures; There are many dangerous plans involved; The government has strict control over key projects.
