Learn from accidents and remember eight requirements

At about 16:50 on December 2, 2022, a fire broke out on a project site west of Jinfeng Road in Xuzhou Economic Development Zone, Jiangsu Province, causing 5 deaths and 2 minor injuries. Xuzhou Municipal Government has set up an accident investigation team to quickly carry out accident investigation. Weak safety awareness, management loopholes, and nonstandard hot work and electricity use may all be the causes of fire on construction sites. In winter, the weather is dry and prone to fire, especially for construction units, which should not be taken lightly. Fire safety focuses on prevention. The following contents must be kept in mind:
1、 Establish and improve the fire prevention inspection system, and immediately eliminate the fire hazards found; For hidden dangers that are difficult to eliminate at the moment, personnel, projects and measures shall be determined to rectify within a time limit.
2、 Organize and carry out drills of production and living fire prevention knowledge and basic fire fighting skills; Personnel for special types of work, such as electrical welding and waterproof work, must receive professional skills training and work with certificates.
3、 Temporary fire lanes must be set up on the construction site to ensure smooth traffic of fire vehicles. It is prohibited to pile up objects, materials or occupy temporary fire lanes on the temporary fire lanes.
4、 The hot work approval system shall be strictly implemented. Before hot work and welding, the inflammables and combustibles at the operation site and around shall be cleaned, fire extinguishers shall be equipped, and the site watcher shall be identified.
5、 The temporary warehouse shall be constructed of noncombustible materials. Inflammable and explosive materials shall be stored in a special warehouse, stored separately by category, and kept ventilated. It is strictly prohibited to store flammable and combustible materials in the construction building, and to deploy paint and thinner on site.
6、 Hot work, welding and laying of insulation materials are prohibited; The method of pasting insulation materials and plastering cement mortar shall be adopted for laying insulation materials to shorten the exposure time of insulation materials as much as possible.
7、 No one is allowed to live or work in the construction project; The temporary facilities in the living area shall not be erected with combustible materials, and the dormitory area shall be provided with two-way fire safety evacuation channels.
8、 It is strictly forbidden to pull and connect temporary power lines without permission in the staff dormitory, and it is strictly prohibited to use electric heating appliances in violation of regulations, so as to keep the evacuation passage unblocked.
